Australian Associated Press (AAP), the cornerstone of Australia’s news-media scene for nearly 80 years, and Sourcefabric have just signed an agreement to replace AAP’s aging newsroom system with Superdesk.

Open source software developer Sourcefabric has signed Australian Associated Press to help develop an end-to-end news creation, production, curation, distribution and publishing platform. The two parties are inviting other news publishers to participate in the project, called Superdesk.

After weeks of intense testing and bug fixing, we are proud to release Live Blog 2.0 stable today. This version of our real time storytelling app makes it easy for publishers to have their live blogs indexed by search engines, which means that more readers will see and follow your stories.
Finland's leading news agency, STT-Lehtikuva was searching for a way to cover events live and create new content to sell to their clients. Sourcefabric Live Blog gave them the solution they needed.
