Mediafabric 2011. Visual essays on journalism's future.

Mediafabric is a new kind of conference. No more yawnsome powerpoints and project summaries. No more Comic Sans MS handouts. No more situations in which corporate pop-up banners outnumber real experts with real ideas.

Mediafabric is demanding of all of its speakers that they prepare concise 'visual essays'. With this, the conference aims to return to the roots of journalism focusing on the what, who, why, when and where of contemporary news media. Sourcefabric has assembled a roster of truly inspiring speakers who will present visions of the future and then, for the two days following the conference, get hands on with developers and engineers to turn words into tools. This week's Inside Source podcast takes you behind the scenes of the conference and gives you the full lowdown on what's happening, and how you can get involved.

Inside Source #5: Mediafabric Conference Special by Sourcefabric

Kunda Dixit is one of Nepal's leading journalists and editors (founder editor of Nepali Times) and an international authority on the press in Asia.
