Sourcefabric independent media projects get underway in Georgia.

Sourcefabric’s huge Georgia 2011 project really got underway in August with visits from the Sourcefabric team to various cities in the Caucasus region. Georgia was declared, post-Soviet Union, as an independent state in 1991. Sitting at the heart of Eurasia with histories and interests in both Europe and Asia, Georgia remains to this day an uncertain country for independent media development.

We're there to design and implement three regional news sites, overhaul a major national publication’s design, launch an exciting new hyperlocal project and migrate one of the biggest papers in the country to Newscoop. Check out the photostream above to see what we've been up to and stay tuned for announcements when the sites go live.

How could we improve your newsroom software? Help us make better independent newsrooms worldwide by taking part in our five minute survey.
