Some time ago we ran a series of blog posts devoted to tips and tutorials for Airtime, our open source radio automation software. We’re bringing them out of the archive to show off some of the many ways Airtime can simplify the lives of radio makers — whether you’re a new user or an experienced pro. Below is the first re-post in the series.

Among the many thing radio makers can do with Airtime is switch seamlessly between scheduled playout and a live DJ stream. You can use software running on SHOUTcast or directly stream using Icecast to Airtime.

In the screencast below, Sourcefabric Head of Support Josh Mclain walks you through the basics of live broadcasting: how to configure a connection, streaming functionalities and software recommendations.

Want to start broadcasting live right now? A managed hosting account can save you time and effort. You could be on the air today with Airtime Pro.
