Hacks/Hackers Berlin: Researching conflict zones and inspiring guerrilla media
Today in Berlin you can join us in our office for another fun edition of Hacks/Hackers. The Berlin chapter of this meetup, dedicated to technology and journalism, started way back in 2012 and now boasts almost 800 members. The group has hosted some of the finest data journalists and technologists exploring the forefront of innovation in journalism, and Tuesday's guest speakers are yet another fine example of forward thinking pioneers.
Abiol Lual Deng has worked as a humanitarian and a researcher in some of the world's most dangerous conflict and post-conflict zones, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Chad and Sudan. She will be speaking about reporting in conflict zones and the use of social media in the latest conflict in South Sudan.
Emin Milli is a journalist from Azerbaijan. He will will some extraordinary stories about runing Meydan TV from a basement recording studio in Berlin.
