Live from News Xchange 2013 in Marrakech
Sourcefabric was one of nine innovative news startups worldwide invited by the European Broadcasting Union to participate in the first Startup Alley at the EBU's annual News Xchange conference in Marrakech, Morocco. From November 13 to 15, broadcast journalists at the event can meet and discuss issues related to the quality — and the business — of journalism.
CNN's Christiane Amanpour was one of the keynote speakers. She told attendees that, while technology has a crucial role to play in journalism, it is not an end in itself. Social media is information, she said, but journalism is what one does with that information.
