Tommy: A clean, accessible and responsive theme for Newscoop
Friendly design
This theme is all about the user. We wanted to achieve a clean and easy-to-read experience for everybody, no matter whether they use screen readers, have poor eyesight, or want to use only the keyboard. We accomplished that by using high color contrast, big text sizes and an easy to use navigation.

One of the problems with many template designs is that the information users are looking for is not the first thing on the page. People using screen readers are often forced to listen to a long list of navigation links, sub-lists of links and other information that is not relevant before arriving at the main content. With this in mind, we added skip-links and additional hints for users relying on screen readers.

Tommy is built with a mobile-first sensibility and works seamlessly from smartphones to smart TVs. In addition, it uses responsive images that keep the page weight low and deliver the site fast.
