NationTalk Radio connects Aboriginal communities in Canada
NationTalk is Canada's only native newswire service, with thousands of media contacts and over 8,000 subscribers to its Morning Brief program. They use Airtime to distribute audio to Aboriginal Canadian communities, businesses, professionals, government and decision makers across Canada.
NationTalk states that it was drawn to Airtime's ease-of-use in comparison to other radio automation software. "With the Airtime platform we were able to train staff in minutes in comparison to other services," states Don Barraclough, NationTalk's president. As a result, they have continued to roll out Airtime for all their talk radio programming.
Sourcefabric was involved at every stage of Airtime's implementation and credit the Airtime team's great work with documentation and an intuitive UI with allowing NationTalk to get up and running so quickly. The station's news reports are prepared in advance, recorded and uploaded to the Airtime play calendar. This easy-to-use system also allows the listening community to tune in via the web, mobile or afterwards on SoundCloud.
